# Systems Research Yearbook 1970

Materials from the 1970 issue of the "Systems Research" yearbook focus on the application of the systems approach in modern biology. The collection consists of two parts: the transcript of a 1968 Moscow discussion where Soviet scientists discussed systems concepts, structure, organization, and functioning of biosystems, and the concept of information in biology; as well as translated articles from the American collection "Systems Theory and Biology," allowing for a comparison of viewpoints. The texts provide a detailed analysis of the multilevel nature of biological systems, the relationship between energy and information components, problems of modeling and evolution, and the difficulties in defining key systems concepts such as system, structure, and organization in the context of living nature. The overall goal is to develop a methodology for systems research to gain a deeper understanding of complex biological phenomena.
